Beaches in Sentosa and what makes them unique
There are 3 main beaches in Sentosa – Tanjong Beach, Palawan Beach, and Siloso Beach. ( and two hidden gems I am including at the end!).
Each one is unique and offers a different vibe and style!
Before I go into the specifics, here is a quick heads-up for the smokers of the group!
IMPORTANT INFO FOR SMOKERS:
As of 1 July 2022, smoking is prohibited on all three beaches in Sentosa.
This is part of Singapore’s smoking prohibition, which has been extended to remaining public parks, gardens, ABC (Active, Beautiful, Clean) Waters sites, and other recreational beaches.
There are designated smoking spots in all three beaches!
Siloso Beach: The Hub of Activity
Overview
Home to the coolest bars and restaurants, Siloso, Singapore’s hippest beach, is the beach to head to for fun-loving people – day and night.
It’s where the island’s vibrant energy truly shines. It’s a hotspot for beach sports, dining, and nightlife.
Activities
- Beach Volleyball: Join a game or watch local tournaments.
- Kayaking and Paddleboarding: Rent equipment from nearby vendors.
- Segway Tours: Glide along the beachfront on a Segway for a fun and unique experience.

Palawan Beach: Family-Friendly Fun
Overview
Palawan Beach is ideal for families and those seeking a relaxing day out. It’s known for its paradisaical soft white sand and calm, shallow waters.
The beach also features a suspension bridge leading to a tiny islet, often touted as the southernmost point of continental Asia.

- Suspension Bridge: Walk across to the islet for great views and photo opportunities.
- Palawan Beach Walk: A scenic walk that’s perfect for a leisurely stroll.
Tips
- The beach can get crowded on weekends. Arrive early to secure a good spot.
- Pack a picnic. There are plenty of shaded areas perfect for a family picnic.
Tanjong Beach: Tranquility and Luxury
Overview
Tanjong Beach offers a serene escape from the busier beaches. Known for its tranquility and exclusivity, it’s the perfect spot for a quiet day of relaxation.
Tanjong Beach Club, a chic beachfront bar and restaurant, adds a touch of luxury.
Activities
- Swimming and Sunbathing: The calm waters and less crowded sands are ideal for a peaceful swim and sunbathing.
- Tanjong Beach Club: Enjoy gourmet food, cocktails, and a sophisticated atmosphere.

- Try the weekend brunch at Tanjong Beach Club. It’s popular and often requires reservations.
Sentosa Beachfront: The Integrated Experience
Overview
The Sentosa Beachfront connects all three main beaches (Siloso, Palawan, and Tanjong) via a scenic coastal trail.
This integration offers visitors the chance to experience the diverse attractions of each beach in one day.
Activities
- Beach Tram: Hop on the Sentosa Beach Tram for an easy and scenic ride between the beaches.

Hidden Gems and Insider Tips
Hidden Beaches
Sentosa also has some lesser-known spots perfect for those who want to escape the crowds.
